Blondies with Brown Butter (Dairy-Free)
Browning the dairy-free butter until it smells nutty before it goes into the batter is what gives these blondies a deep caramel flavor plain melted butter never develops.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup dairy-free butter
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup allulose
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup dairy-free white or dark chocolate chips
Method
- 1
Melt the dairy-free butter in a skillet over medium heat, swirling constantly, until it turns light amber and smells nutty, about 4-5 minutes — this browning step is what gives the blondies their deep, caramel-like flavor; plain melted butter stirred in cold just tastes flat by comparison.
- 2
Let the browned butter cool slightly, then whisk in allulose until combined.
- 3
Beat in the egg and vanilla.
- 4
Whisk almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt together, then fold into the wet mixture until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
- 5
Spread into a parchment-lined 8x8 pan and bake at 350°F for 22-25 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is just set. Cool completely before slicing.
