Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1/2 cucumber, chopped
  • 1 green apple, cored and chopped
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 frozen banana, sliced

Method

    Add almond milk and spinach to the blender first, blending on high for 30 seconds until completely smooth — blending the greens with the liquid before anything else is what fully breaks down their fibrous cell walls; adding them on top of thicker ingredients leaves stringy, unblended bits throughout the finished smoothie.

    Add cucumber, apple, and lemon juice, blending until smooth.

    Add the frozen banana last and blend again until thick and creamy.
