Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Layering the ingredients with liquid on the bottom and frozen fruit on top before blending is what keeps the blades from spinning freely against dry fruit, pulling everything down into the blend evenly instead.

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1 frozen banana, sliced
- 1 cup frozen strawberries
- 1/2 cup plain dairy-free yogurt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract

Pour the almond milk into the blender first, then add the yogurt and vanilla.

Add the frozen banana and strawberries on top of the liquid — layering it this way, liquid on the bottom and frozen fruit on top, is what keeps the blades from spinning freely against dry, hard fruit at first; the liquid gets pulled up and through the frozen fruit as the blades engage, drawing everything down into an even blend instead of leaving fruit stuck above the blades.

Blend on low to start breaking up the fruit, then increase to high.

Blend until completely smooth and thick.
