Sesame Ginger Roasted Asparagus
Snapping off the woody ends of the asparagus at their natural breaking point, rather than cutting them with a knife at a guessed spot, is what removes exactly the tough, fibrous part and nothing more.

Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs asparagus
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp coconut aminos
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
Method
- 1
Hold each asparagus spear near the base and bend gently until it snaps naturally — asparagus reliably breaks right at the point where the tender part ends and the tough, woody part begins, so snapping it like this removes exactly the fibrous end and nothing more, unlike a knife cut at a guessed spot that often wastes good, tender stalk.
- 2
Preheat oven to 425°F.
- 3
Toss the trimmed asparagus with sesame oil, coconut aminos, and grated ginger.
- 4
Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast 10-12 minutes until just tender with lightly charred tips.
- 5
Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
